Card drops, live reactions and the numbers we're watching — posted before kickoff, not after.

A model, not a tipster

Every play on TheSlate24 comes from a statistical model, not a person's gut feeling. We weigh team ratings, offensive and defensive efficiency, matchup profiles, venue, rest, travel, injuries and weather for every game before a single play gets published. Nothing is guaranteed — we say plainly when the model has no clear lean on a game, which is most games.

Every sport, every market

Model plays for college football, the NFL, MLB and the NHL, all in one place. Each play carries a letter grade and a written breakdown of why the model landed there — the projection and the factors that drove it.

Live scores and headlines

Track live scores and final results across the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and college football without leaving the site. Breaking news and roster moves are surfaced as they land, not buried in a feed.

See the model, not just its conclusions

Members get read access to the full workbook behind every pick — ratings, injury reports, coaching tiers and the complete slate for every sport we cover. Free accounts get three plays a week, chosen automatically as the highest-scoring plays on the board that day.

Fewer plays, clearly graded

Every play carries a letter grade that shows how strongly the model's inputs line up. Most games get no play at all. We would rather publish fewer plays than fill a card every day.

Betting responsibly

Sports wagering carries real risk, and nothing on this site changes that. If it stops being entertainment for you or someone you know, help is free and confidential — see our , including the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER.

S24 Model

The full board, every game, every input — the same numbers our grades come out of. Sortable, searchable, and updated whenever the sheets rebuild.

Every number here comes from our automated statistical model — no person is picking games. The model weighs team ratings, efficiency, matchups, venue, rest, travel and injuries.

How TheSlate24 works

How the model builds a play, what the grades mean, and what betting analysis can and cannot do. We would rather you understand the limits than overestimate it.

Methodology

The projection

Every game gets an independent projection built from team ratings, efficiency, matchup profiles, venue, rest, travel, injuries and, where it applies, starting goalies or pitchers and weather.

The play

A play is only published when the model's projection leans clearly one way. Close games are marked PASS. Most games produce no play, and we say so rather than fill the card.

The explanation

Each play lists the factors that drove it, taken from the model's own inputs for that game. If a factor was not part of the calculation, it is not mentioned.

Reading a grade

A and B

The model's strongest plays, where the most inputs line up. Members see the full pick and reasoning.

C and below

Plays the model leans toward with less agreement behind them. These are shown openly with the complete written breakdown.

What a grade is not

A grade ranks the model's conviction relative to other plays on the board. It is not a promise or a predicted win rate, and nothing on this site guarantees a result.

Keep it realistic
What we will not do

Responsible gambling

Betting should be entertainment you can afford. If it stops being that, help is free, confidential and available right now.

Set your limits before you bet, not after

Decide what you can afford to lose before you place a wager, and treat that number as the cost of entertainment rather than an investment you expect back. Betting is not a way to make money, solve a financial problem, or recover a loss. Anyone telling you otherwise — including any picks service — is selling something.

Warning signs

It may be time to step back if you recognise any of these

Practical steps that help

Deposit and loss limits

Every licensed sportsbook lets you set daily, weekly or monthly deposit and loss limits in your account settings. Set them when you are thinking clearly, not in the middle of a losing session.

Time limits and reality checks

Most apps offer session reminders that tell you how long you have been betting. Turn them on. Time passes differently inside a betting app than it does outside one.

Cooling-off and self-exclusion

You can suspend your account for a set period or exclude yourself entirely, through your sportsbook or through your state's self-exclusion program. This is a normal tool, not a last resort.

Block access

Blocking software such as Gamban or GamBlock restricts gambling sites and apps across your devices. Removing apps from your phone and payment methods from your accounts adds useful friction.

Talk to someone

Telling one person you trust is consistently the step people say made the difference. Free, confidential helplines are staffed around the clock and you do not need a diagnosis to call.

Keep the record honest

Track every wager, including the losses, in one place. Memory reliably overweights wins. A written record is the fastest way to see what is actually happening.
